Why can't I download Office required Updates?

When I tried to download the updates, they were treated as pop-ups (I
believe, because I heard that goofy sound a blocked pop-up makes: how can I

If you are referring to the pop-up blocker added to Internet Explorer by
Windows XP SP-2, then if the pop up blocker is actually the cause of your
problem, you should have a light yellow bar at the top of the page. Right
click on the yellow bar and you can configure to your needs.

If you are referring to another pop-up blocker as the possible cause, you
need to read the directions for the application.
