Why can't I enter data in Outlook task Details Tab?

I have an Outlook 2003 task defined, and when I switch to the DETAILS tab, I
cannot enter any details. I place the cursor in the "Update list:" text box,
but when I try to type notes in the box, all I get is a 'ding'.
AND I don't find any 'HELP' on this.

Add a person to the update list. That's all it does - sends updates to
the Requested By person plus whoever is on the update list. It's not a
place for notes.

Everyone - turn on your Advanced Toolbars and learn how to use the Field
Chooser and Group by Box!!

Thank you, Judy. If the information is in HELP, I didn't find it. You're
reply is VERY helpful. I won't try THAT again.

Judy -
I cannot add names. The box is grayed out.
Wouldn't the names of the folks who received the original task assignment be
listed there?
Any insight would be helpful.
thanks in advance -

Perplexed

I wander - why MS Office help files are not indexed on aplication key words
nor on key word pairs which show up in different windows. For example, when
one tries to search in "Help" on "task details", tons of irrelevant
references are displayed. Moreover, when I am on "Task details" tab and I
click on help, in the first window I should get a context-sensitive help
related to "Task details". What I am getting is the genering portal to help.
This is counterproductive and it shows some level of disregard for MS Office
users.

The "AND I don't find any 'HELP' on this." has not been resolved in 2007
version. It is a shame.
