Why can't I install Office 2007?

Hi. I just signed up to try the Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007
Beta. I downloaded the file (OPPLUS-EN.EXE) and saved my activation key.
When I click on the installation file, it asks if I'd like to run
OPPLUS-EN.EXE. I select "Run." It then asks, "Do you wish to proceed with
the installation?". I say yes. It then says, "Extracting files, please
wait...". I wait while it loads. The Office logo appears briefly, then an
error reporting message comes up.

For some reason, I can't get past this. I'd like to try out the Office 2007
beta, but can't seem to install it. Any suggestions?

I seem to have the same problem. I click customize. Leave Office 2003 on the
system except Outlook as is prompted. Then after 2 minutes after starting to
install (buttom update confusing) I get the error : "Microsoft Office
Profesional Plus 2007 (Beta) encounterd an error during setup." Can only
choose Close. The I am asked "In order to complete the setup a system reboot
is..... Yes or no"

Choosing Yes or No makes no difference

Anyone any Idea?

hi Jason,

Are you running the .exe file that you downloaded directly? Generally that should work, or did you extract the files using
unzip/WinZip/WinRAR type utilities? They don't by default recreate the Office 2007 CD image stored in the download in the right
structure and the installs will fail.

I am having the same issue.

I run the .exe file, the install gets started, and then it starts saying it
can't find ProWW.cab. However, I verified the file is there, but it simply
won't proceed beyond that point.

what is the error?

The error propt reads, "Setup did not complete successfully. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." Then it says, "An error occured during installation,
and setup was unable to complete." and "Please tell Microsoft about this
problem." Finally it gives me the option to "Send Error Report" or "Don't
Send."

Every time I try the installation, the same thing happens. One other
interesting thing I forgot to note is that when I click the .EXE, my computer
goes very slow and available RAM goes down to about 5, then up a little and
down a little before finally (after about a minute or two) asking if I'd like
to run the installation.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Mine accepts the key, asks for the apps I want to use and continues to the
screen that says its installing it and then just hangs. Some function remains
but its obviously tying up resources and eventually there's nothing to do but
cancel it or force the machine off.
Any ideas?
