Why Can't I log in?

We are running Proj Srv 2003 and up until last week everything was fine. We
tried to install SQL 2000 reporting services on the server. Now i can not log
into project server, either by the web or by project Pro.

The first error message I received was "Project was unable to log you on at
this time because the Project Server database cannot be accessed. Please try
again later or check with your Project Server administrator. (5001)"

I deleted the MsProjectUser and MsProjectServerUser and recreated them. Now
i can log in as admin, but i can not log in as myself usinging windows
authentication.

The error message i am getting now is "You have entered an incorrect user
name/password combination. (5002)" that is displayed when i use my windows AD
login and password.

Do you have any ideas on what might be going on?

You say that you "tried to install SQL reporting services." What happened
during this installation? Something bad? Did it fail? Are you able to logon
to SQL? Are your databases running?

I spoke to the techo boys and this is what they came back with:

The installation was successful.

Are you able to logon to SQL?
Yes.

Are your databases running?
Yes.


So where does this leave me now? Do you have any ideas as to why this might
be happening?

Just to throw another variable in the mix; I set project server to
synchronise with an AD group. I had tried to force the first synchronisation
to occur straight away by clicking the "Update now" button, but it never
synchronised. I have since removed the AD group name from the box.

So far we haven't got anything specific enough from you to hazard a guess.
What else have you done to troubleshoot? Can you logon using the built-in
administrator account?

Gary,
I can log in with the admin account. I can log in with any account that is
specific to project Server, I created a test account that does not use AD
groups and i can manually connect to Project with it, if i try my wondows
account i can't get in.

I Have deleted my windows account from Project, and recreated it, and it
doesn't allow access.

I'm thinking that project isn't synchronising or reading the AD data.
