Why can't I print a Word doc converted from pdf

I used a 3rd party utility to convert a pdf file to a Word document. When I
finished making the changes needed to the Word doc, I tried printing it. The
printers (tried this on 2 different computers) did not engage as if not
recognizing the print command, but gave no error message. Help!
