Why can't I see NEW projects in PWA?

E

Elle

Ok I saved the project to the server, I've gone into Project Information and
put them in the right category, I've collaborated all information, I gone
into PWA 2003, gone to 'Admin' 'Manage Security', selected the category,
clicked 'Modify Category', added the project to it. Not showing, it's been
over 24 hours and still not showing, I've tried collaborating again still not
showing.

What have I missed?

Thank you help in advance

It sure sounds as though the approach you're taking to using PS2003 is all
wrong. Do you have a good book or are you following the TechNet
documentation? You might consider our Administering book for 2003 at

Wonderful. I will buy a book.

In the meantime would it be possible for someone to tell me how I get a
schedule, that i've just saved to the Server (2003), to show it PWA?

Thank you

Did you publish the project? First you save, then you publish to send the
assignments to the resources. I can't tell where you are at in the learning
process. You shouldn't be worrying about Groups and Categories if you're up
to the point of publishing projects, you should have your security scheme
designed and in place before you bring resources and projects into the
environment. Using the default values in the system is a good way to begin
if you're just testing. Until you understand how Project Server's security
matrix works, changes you make could muck up the works. Let us know what
you've done to configure your system and the steps you are taking and what
you expect to happen versus what is happening.

Hi Gary,

Yes i've published the project. It is showing in the 'Open from Microsoft
Office Project Server' view in MSP. But in PWA in the Projects view it is
not.

in Project Information the info is the same as other schedules that ARE
showing. I was told (my 10 minute training) that I need to add the schedule
to the correct category in PWA for it to show in Project Centre. So I've gone
into Admin, Manage Security and added it into the 2 categories that I was
told (I watched someone else do this and it did show in the Projects Centre)
so I think i'm missing something (obviously right?!) but no idea what!

It sounds as though someone setup your system security with a
high-maintenance approach, and I can't possibly tell you what to do next
without knowing exactly what was done to make your configuration so
difficult to manage.
