Why can't I see thumbnails after installing Office 2003? When I try opening a
picture folder using a thumbnail view, I only get a broken file images. I
have to actually open each file to see what it is. Can this be fixed? I'm
using Windows 2000.

Hi D.K.

There are a couple of scenarios where this can happen.
If this was an upgrade installation from an earlier Office version you may be running into the one here

This one can also play into the issue, but with Office document thumbnail previews

May be it is...

If you had Office 2000 previously installed, jpg files might be associated
with Photo Editor (included wiht Office 2000).

Once you have upgraded to Office 2003, jpg file association might remain
unchanged, but photoeditor does not exist in a standard Office 2003
installation.

Then, you can remove the file association of jpg files.
Try to open a jpg file and it will ask for the application you'd like to use
with jpg files. Then, choose the default image file viewer (in Windows XP) or
Kodak Imaging(in Windows 2000).

Hope this will help you.
