I've created my own custom styles for use on several big docs (70-90
pages each). I'm using new names for them, the equivalent of MyHeading
1, MyHeading 2, etc. I'm using outline numbering for them. (A huge
thank-you here for Shauna Kelly and the rest of you for your
life-saving tips on outline numbering in Word.)
But I find that I can't use View - Outline for these new headings. I
can't use View - Document Map, either.
Here's another problem: Every time I generate a new TOC, the Microsoft
built-in style names come up (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.). I have to
click Options, click the Reset button, then choose my custom styles
again.
Is there an easy way to quickly generate an outline of my custom style
headings? Is there a way to set my custom styles as the default in the
TOC?
I'm using Microsoft Office 2002 with SP3, on Microsoft Windows XP
Version 2002 with SP2.
Thanks very much!
