why can't see the incoming mail indication in my system tray?

I use outlook at work that is connected to an exchange serer.
Until about a month ago, I could see that I have a new mail by an indication
in a shape of an envelope in the system tray. In the last few months I can't
see the indication in the system tray. Therefore I have to check for new mail
every few minutes.
My outlook application is always activate and minimized in my taskbar.
