why can't you right click then paste inside screentip box?

I am trying to paste text from a cell into a hyperlink screentip. Every time
I go to edit the hyperlink, the text in my clipboard gets wiped clean. I
can't tell you how annoying, fustrating this is. And while I'm at it, why
can't you right click inside the screentip box and then paste like you do
everywhere else?

If you refer to the rightmouse, Edit Hyperlink, ScreenTip, Screenti
text window, I have no problems pasting there (subject to it's 7
character limit).

If you refer to the small tip window as displayed when the cursor i
set to hover on the hyperlink, the tip window is close to the link, bu
as soon as the cursor no longer hovers on the link the tip window is no
displayed, I guess I'm just not quick enough to paste that way.

Thank you Bryan for trying to help me.

I am right clicking on a picture in excel. I choose hyperlink. Then I
choose screentip, then I try to paste what is in my clipboard by moving
mouse to the text box that's to receive screen tip and right clicking my
mouse expecting to see paste, but the right mouse button does not bring
up copy, cut, and paste as it normally does. For some reason I have
also discovered that what I thought was in my clipboard gets wipe away
from time to time in Excel. Where it goes, who knows. I get around this
by first pasting what I want in the sreentip into a notepad file, then
when I get to the text box for the screentip, I make sure the cursor is
inside and hit "cntl v". And magically, walla, it pastes my text as
expected right into the box. But why one can't right mouse button, and
see copy cut paste, and click paste is beyond me. I'm happy you are
having no problem with this Bryan, but you must admit this is kind of
weird. You're telling me that you can move your mouse over the
screentip input box off the hyperlink request and right click your
mouse and you'll see copy cut and paste like normal? I sure wish that
would work for me, because I have oodles of pictures that I want people
to be able to mouse over and see a screentip for. It's a struggle, but
I'm getting by. Again Bryan, thanks for your response to my dillema. I
want to rate you highly and will if I can figure that out. This is my
first time here. I saw the rating question coming in but it eludes me
at the moment. Have a good day.

From a cell, select the cell, then highlight and copy from the formula
bar.

Select Edit Hyperlink, creen Tip, and CTRL/V to paste.

This works.
