Why certain saved file name are blue in colour?

I've encountered certain word or excel file names which are blue in colour
instead of the normal black. What does that mean? Glad that anyone could
help.

It means they are compressed by the filing system. This is a Windows rather
than a Word issue and is documented in Windows Help
