Why do deleted emails keep coming back again ?

Why do the emails I delete keep coming back to my inbox again ? I even right
click on the deleted forlder and click on empty the folder and they still
keep returning .
This is very annoying to say the least. I have Roadrunner and sometimes use
rR web mail to read my email too so is this somehow causing a problem ?
Anybody out there know anything about this problem and how to fix it ?
I'm using Outlook 2003 (11.8217.8221) and Win XP w SP3
