Why do documents open under toolbar?

I have Office 2004. Every time I open a new or existing Word
document, it opens with the title bar of the window hidden under the
toolbar at the top. How do I stop it from doing that?

Your toolbar is not properly docked beneath the Menu Bar. Even though it may
appear to be it is actually *floating* by a few pixels, and floating
toolbars float atop doc windows.Use the left edge of the toolbar to drag it
up until it "snaps" into place at the bottom edge of the Menu Bar. You
should be able to see any open doc window move automatically out of the way
once you succeed.

If you have another bar displayed (such as the Formatting Toolbar) drag it
up until it snaps into place beneath the first.
