Why do Duration fields revert to "1 day?" when I reopen my project

Its driving me nuts and I've lost alot of time.

I get the thing set up just right, save it, print it, close it, and when i
reopen, all the Durations show as an estimate, eg, "1 day?", the starting
dates are mostly intact and the finish dates are all screwed up.

Is this a software error, or is there something basic about using Project
that I missed?

Hi John

never seen this behaviour. Which version of project (choose help / about
microsoft project) - please also include which SR you have also. Is this in
all project files (ie try creating a 2 task dummy project and see if it does
the same) or only this particular one.
