Why do have I started getting email error message 0x8004210A?

Thanks for your reply: Here is more detail. I started getting email error
message 0x8004210A (time out) quite recently for both incoming & outgoing
mail. I have tried varous solutions related to the Norton Internet Security
software.I have narrowed the problem down to the Personal Firewall. If I turn
this off - Outlook operates fine without a problem. If the Firewall is on I
receive the time out message. I think the settings in Firewall may have
changed during a recent update - but so far, I have not been able to resolve
this problem
In the meantime I can access my mail through the Yahoo web - but I prefer to
use Outlook - and my addresses etc are all set up in Outlook.

The simple answer is - ditch Norton. Many people report problems both with
this and McAfee. There are quite a few freeware apps that will do the same
job without the hassles.
