Why do I get a sound icon when I try to insert a quicktime movie?

When I go to insert/movie from file and try to insert a quicktime movie, I
get the sound icon and the edit actions only apply to sound. When I click on
it in the presentation no movie appears. Is there a better way to play a
quicktime movie without having to use a button to run Quicktime? I'm using
PowerPoint 2002.
