why do I get extra text in my signature on a new mail

Why do I get this extra text -  - appearing on a new mail with my signature.

I am using MS Outlook 2000, and the signature is set-up to automatically
appear in all new mails. The text is not seen in the signature files in the
Documents and Settings area.
