why do I get fake returned email notices?

I'm using Office2003 & Outlook, I also use mailwasher but every day I'm
getting 5/6 fake mailer-daemon returned mail notices. They are somehow
by-passing mailwasher. Do I have a worm?

Unlikely. Do you have good antivirus software running?
No antispam product can catch everything. You might see if you can bump your
mailwasher settings up a bit, but you'll risk more false positives.

How do you know they're fake? Sounds to me like someone has hijacked your
mail address and is using it in their SPAM. You get the NDRs.

I need more coffee. I second Brian's comments. :)

Thanks for your replies. I have Defender, Adaware & Spybot, plus AVG. They
haven't found anything untoward. If I do have a worm like Kletz i.e. How can
I get rid of it ? I did do a scan through Housecall as well incidentally.

It is not you, it is someone else who has your email address in the contacts
folder who is infected, but you get the NDRs since the mail is spoofed to
come from your address. You can do nothing.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
