Why do I get "operation failed" clicking on "send/receive" ?

Now what?

I am getting a "operation failed" message and can not receive e-mail. Am I
having network or setting problems? Not real literate about this. Thank you.

Version of Outlook?
Type of account(s)?

Try a detect and repair and post back results.
