Why do I get prompted when I try to delete a block of text?

In Office I highlight a block of text, hit the delete key and I get a prompt
at the bottom left corner of my screen that says "Delete Block? No (Yes)". I
have to then hit enter to delete the block. Where is the setting to turn
this off?

In Word check the 'Wordperfect' compatibility settings
in Tools=>Options=>General
