Why do I have an email folder in My Contacts

In Outlook 2003, when I click on Contacts on the left, I see a pane labeled
My Contacts, which includes several contacts folders. But the pane also lists
Unread Mail, For Follow Up, and two Calendars.

Why are Mail and Calendars included within My Contacts??
