I have to open the message and manually change the encoding to view certain
messages. Else, the messages appear in some foreign characters. They
continue to be un-readable if I select the encoding as US-ASCII (the default
encoding), Western European (Windows) , Western European (ISO) or unicode
(UTF-8). But I get the proper characters if I pick user defined (and even
others like Chinese, Korean etc.). BTW, I am trying to read emails in
English.
