Why do I have to hit Enter twice?

Hi there,

I've noticed with a document I'm working on that when I hit enter a
the end of a paragraph the cursor only moves on one space. When
continue typing, however, a new paragraph does start. Anyone know wh
this happens and how to correct it?

Graham,

It is a funtion of your paragraph style spacing before or after. You will
need to modify your paragraph style.

Check the style formatting and make sure the style for the
following paragraph is the same as for the current one.

I don't believe any of the previous answers to this question actually
address the problem, which, if I understand it correctly, is that Enter is
not producing a new line/paragraph but only a space (as if it were the
Spacebar). I'm wondering if this could be the effect of some international
keyboard layout of Accessibility setting. It certainly sounds very bizarre,
but it does sound reminiscent of the "dead keys" in international keyboard
layouts, in which certain keys are "setup keys" for accented characters and
don't produce a character until the character to be accented is pressed.

Suzanne, you are almost certainly correct. I have used a client's PC in
the Netherlands, where the @ and " characters on the keyboard were
"dead". To input the @ or the quotation mark, it was necessary to press
@ or " followed by a space. A veritable pain, I can tell you!
