why do I lose bulleted list when converting Visio drawing to PDF

After creating a process map in Visio, I converted the file to PDF. I
noticed black dots in the lower right corner of the drawing. Then I noticed
the process boxes that contained bulleted lists had lost their bullets. It
appears that the bullets moved to the bottom of the page when I created the
PDF. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think I’ve resolved the issue. Since I can’t upgrade to Visio 2003 SP1, I
used the second solution: the PDF Print Quality option must be set to 600 dpi
or lower. I went to the Adobe Acrobat website. See below.

Text is positioned or scaled incorrectly when you convert a Visio document
to PDF (Acrobat 6.x on Windows)

Issue

When you convert a Microsoft Visio 2002 or 2003 document to Adobe PDF, text
with rotation, bullets or transparency isn't positioned or scaled correctly.

Detail

The PDF Print Quality option is larger than 600 dpi.

Solutions

Do one of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Upgrade to Visio 2003 SP1.

You can obtain the upgrade from the Microsoft website
www.microsoft.com/downloads .

Solution 2: Set the PDF Print Quality option to 600 dpi.

1. Quit Visio and Acrobat.

2. Choose Start > Settings > Printers And Faxes.

3. In the Printers And Faxes window, select Adobe PDF.

4. Choose File > Printing Preferences.

5. Click the Layout tab, and then click Advanced.

6. Click the plus sign (+) next to Graphic to expand the view, and then
click Print Quality. Choose 600 dpi from the Print Quality menu.

7. Open the Visio file and convert it to PDF.

Background information

Adobe Acrobat uses the Adobe PDF printer driver to convert Visio documents
to PDF. Visio doesn't print text with rotation, bullets, or transparency
correctly unless the PDF Print Quality option is set to 600 dpi or lower.
