Why do I sometimes receive emails in Outlook with blank content?

I'm running Microsoft Outlook 2003 on XP SP2 with ZoneAlarm 5.5.094 and
Symantec Corporate Antivirus scanning all inbound and outbound emails, and
have a problem consistently occur. I am pulling mail off of a remote server
that I'm hosting a website on. Outlook sends/receives once a minute, pulling
all the mail off the server for my accounts.

The Email Alert window will pop-up in the bottom right corner of my desktop,
and it will display a preview of the message's first 250 characters or so...
Here's the catch. Every now and then, I'll go to read the email, and the
message will be blank. No content, just the headers, and if it was a RE: to
an email, the body of the previous email. But it WILL display the text of the
email in the pop-up window for the 5 seconds that it's there.

I just had this happen with another mail about 5 minutes ago. The text that
appeared in the window was a re: to an email I sent a co-worker. His reply in
the email notification window said "Hey, I got your email and saw the
samples..." But when I opened that email in Outlook, it was like he just
clicked Reply => Send on my email, but never typed anything. No content from
him displayed in Outlook at all, even in View Source.

What gives?
