why do I wait so long?

Hi folks, another question:
I have one imap and two hotmail accounts in outlook.
And surely, they have subfolders.
When I click on the "inbox" or any other folder,
it takes about 3-4 seconds for putlook to respond and
view the contetns of the folder.
This is usually happening.
Why it takes so long to view the contents of the folder?
Does it happen to you too?
I dont have many emails in folder too, but somwhow out responds slowly.
What settings may I change to enable outlook work a bit faster?

If you have your anti virus checking your email, disable it as it offers no
added protection and may stop this behavior.

Outlook has to download the contents of the folder to the local cache prior
to displaying it.

Certainly.

For IMAP and Hotmail accounts, all the data is actually kept on the server.
Each time you access a folder, Outlook must query the server to make sure
its copy of the folder is accurate and up-to-date, adding new or removing
deleted messages as required. It takes a little time to do this
synchronization.
