Why do my email hyperlinks link to address in a different file?

I have created several databases that contain names, addresses and email
addres columns. I have typed in the email addresses as hyperlinks. The
first time I clicked on them, they worked fine.
Now when I hover on any cell in the email column or click on an email
hyperlink, it goes to an email in a different file.
Can someone help me get this fixed.
