Why do my Inbox files "disappear" when Autoarchive is not active?

Dizzy Don

I sometimes leave files in my Office Inbox for a week or more at a time to
ensure that I followup in a timely matter. I've notice for the past few weeks
that my files start to "disappear" after about 6-7 days. I can't find them
in my Delete files, nor are they Archived. I haven't activated the
Autoarchive feature in Outlook.

Anybody have any ideas?

Do you have any "views" set on your in-box, like mail from the last 7 days?
Right click in the toolbar area, enable the advanced toolbar and use the
dropdown to go back to all messages.
