WHY DO MY PATTERNS PRINT DIFFERENT THAN WHAT IS ON MY SCREEN?

When I save to tiff format my pattern changes. Instead of a checkered
pattern it
changes to something that looks like a light solid color. If I look closely
at it I can see the pattern. But I want it to look exactly like it does on
screen. How do I do that?

Are you using Publisher to save the image?
What happens if you copy the image, paste it into a Paint program and save as a .tif?

I save each page as a tiff file before i convert into pdf so the word art and
graphics remain the same. I tried it the way you suggested and it worked.
