Why do my photos print VERY Dark, but are fine on screen?

I can copy photos very clearly on my Epson Photo RX500. However, printing
from the MS Picture Managers prints the photos with LOTS of BLACK or very
dark. THe advanced settings are NOT VIVID, but normal. None of the other
settings have been changed, but photos are VERY DARK. WHAT IS GOING ON???
