Why do some assignments in My Tasks all of a sudden glow "New" again

Why do assignments in My Tasks show "New!" at times when they have
been in existence for quite some time?

indicator "New" in my task will disappear after you see/click that task
detail.

I think may have to do with un-publish and then republishing. Anyway, you'll
be happy to know that in the next 24 hours, we'll be releasing a new, very
inexpensive web part that removes this from all tasks, as most people find
this a nuisance in any case.

Cool By the way Gary, I plan to be submitting an official (post-
trial) purchase of both the My Tasks Constant Filter and My Tasks
Totals web parts today. They have been VERY VERY well received and
are well worth the cost -- especially My Tasks Totals.
