Why do some file names appear as different colours?

Hi,
Just curious to know - recently some of Microsoft Office file names have
appeared in blue, rather than the usual black. It's not all of them, and it
doesn't seem to make any difference, but I just wondered if anyone know why
this was happening?

Assuming you are using XP as your operating system....

Black is normal, blue is compressed and green is encrypted.
