Plotting dates? One value per week, say? The value is associated with only a day, so
it's going to get narrow as more weeks are piled on.
You could try changing the category axis type. From the Chart menu, choose Chart
Options, and on the Axes tab, change the Category Axis from Auto or Time Scale to
Category.
