Why do the data files copy to my cd-rw turn out to be read only?

With the possible exception of some third party packet format CD writing
software, files copied to CDR/RW are always read only. Copy back to the hard
drive and reset the read-only attribute property. (Right click >
properties). Never try to save directly to, open from or print from the CD
using Word.
