Why do the fonts change size when I paste an chart into word?

I am creating a report in word, and when I paste the chart from Excel, the
font size usually changes. I typically paste it in as a link to an excel
chart, but the font looks different in excel and word. Anyone know why that
is? Any quick fixes?

No guarantees. And please note that later versions of Word do a better job with
this than older ones...

You can try selecting the chart in Excel, then hold SHIFT and click the Edit
menu. You should see an entry to "Copy as picture". This mode often helps
stabilize formatting issues.
