I have Office XP/2002. When I went online to check for updates, it
recommended about 12 Office 2003 updates. Are these updates applicable to
XP/2002 as well as 2003? Do I need to download them?

Check your add/remove programs to see if you have any Office 2003 products
installed, such as Publisher, Visio, Outlook or whatever.

ah yes... the unopened, unuseable "demo" Office 2003 that came with the
computer new, but you have to pay for it to use it. Thanks

Then you're extreamly fortunate that your Office installation wasnt
corrupted, when you installed an earlier version, whilst later version was
still installed
