At what point does Word 2007 "shut down" in the process?
It could be for a variety of reasons--ranging from a bad printer driver, to
a corrupted registry entry, to a corrupted normal.dotm, or to misbehaving
add-in.
Have you tried starting Word (Word: not Windows) in safe mode to see if the
problem still occurs. To start WORD (note: not Windows) in safe mode, hold
the Ctrl key and click the shortcut you usually use to start Word. When
prompted, click Yes to starting in safe mode.
