Why does a mail merge in ACT! go to the Drafts in Outlook

When I'm doing a mail merge in Act! by Sage, and have the email set up to
send via Outlook, why does it send the group emails directly to the Outlook
Drafts box before sending? When this happens, it changes the formatting on
the email. How can I avoid this?
