That clarifies a lot; you are not on the network of your ISP now? A lot
of
ISPs only allow access to their SMTP servers when you are on their
network.

i am using POP3 server setting... the settigs are from my ISP... i had
tried
to disable the virus scanner but still faced the same problem.... the
strange
thing is that i can send the emails when i was in the office but now
that
i
am overseas it doesnt seem to work???
:
It's still a configuration issue. What mail account type are you using
and
are you using the SMTP server settings from your ISP or a 3rd party
one?
If
you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook disable this
integration and try again.

Dear Roady,
THaks for the help, i tried to configuremy smtp server settin to ue
authentication but still did not work... is there any other way???
P.S.
i
did
not have this problem using office 2007 on xp
:
That is an error reported by your ISP and not Outlook. Try
configuring
your
SMTP server settings to use authentication and try again.
