Why does it say file permission error when trying to save?

I have upgraded the lab computers at school from Office 97 to Office 2000.
Our network is Novell 4.83. Now when I try to save a file in Word 2000 I get
the following message; "Word cannot complete this save due to a file
permission error." How can I correct this problem?

Are you trying to save to a removable drive, such as a floppy disk?

I am trying to save to the server. I believe I can save to the hard drive but then I have to go to each computer and transfer the information from the hard drive to the server by signing on as adminstrator. I do not want my students to sign on this way because they can cause some serious problems. MBC
