Why does it take so long for Visio to initially save a drawing?

I have to create a large number of Visio drawings. I'm automating the
process using Visual Basic.

I find that it takes a very, very, very long time to initially save a
drawing. Why does it take so, so, long?

Is there a way to improve the save time?

What is Visio doing behind the scenes that makes it take so long to save a
drawing?

I have about 500 drawings to generate through automation... The drawings
are generated very quickly but it takes forever to save them... What's up
with that?

Hi,
What format are you saving them as? bmp? gif? jpg?

Try to save as gif or jpg.

Also save each one as you create it rather than a batch.

i do not know if you are using code but clipboard.clear is
a good one to use if you are copying a lot of things.
