Why does Macromedia Flash start when I click on an internet link .

In previous editions of Outlook, if I clicked on an Internet link in an
e-mail message, it would automatically start Internet Explorer and take me to
the link. Now, when I click on a link in an e-mail message, it starts a
Macromedia Flash blank screen and nothing else happens. How do I restore the
previous ability to go directly to the link site

Try this: In IE click Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Reset Web Settings.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to modify the HTMLFile file type
associations.
