Why does mail-merge print offset from template?

Hello anyone! I'm trying to create a mailing publication in booklet form
(8.5 x 5.5)using Publisher 07 with margins all the way around set at .5. So
far, this project is very easy to do but when you look in the page preview
and if you print, the page is offset by about 3/8 of an inch from the
original margins and on one side of the page it has been cut off. What do I
need to do to correct for this? In a another type of program, I had the same
problem and I was able to correct for this by setting the page size to 8.5 x
11.1. Do I have to do the same here in a custom blank form?

What is your printer's margin limitation? Some inkjets have a bottom (portrait)
or right side (landscape) of .55.

Hello. That's interesting, I wasn't aware that a printer would have margin
limitations, but then.... At the moment, my laptop/printer is at home and
I'm at work so I can't check for that limitation. But I do need to make a
clarification. Once I picked the page size which is 8.5 x 5.5 portrait with
the margins set equal all around and then follow that with the advance
setting and placing that in booklet form and ok' that, it will put one page
down and then a window will come up asking that in order for a book to work,
it requires that I have 4 pages total (multiples of 4) and do I want to do
that? And of course that is yes. If you click on page 1 you get just that
page (same with page 4) but if you click on page 2 or 3, you get both pages 2
and 3. And this is normal, correct? Now in my case, I put in a text box at
the top of all four pages and create a border all out to the maximum of the
left/right margin settings (keeping just within actually), you can then look
under page preview and look specifically at pages 2 and 3 you'll find BOTH
pages are shifted to the right by about 3/8 of inch (printing of course on
8.5 x 11 to get both pages) with the page on the right cut off at the margin
setting. Is this because of the printer margin limitation? To me, it looks
like its thinking that I'm going to put this into 3 ring binder and its
trying to compensate for that.

What are your printer limitations? As I mentioned before, the right-margin will
be larger in a landscape mode. This will be reflected in print preview. You will
not see this on page one but you will see it on page four and page three.
I don't know why you are getting the shift. I am not, no matter what printer I
use. Have you downloaded the save as a PDF add-in? See if saving to a PDF makes
a difference.

Is your printer driver current? Have you looked on the manufacturer's web site
to see if there is an updated driver?
It is always wise to completely remove a driver before installing/reinstalling.
