Why does MS Document Imaging invert page colors in a multi-page T.

I have 3 tifs I am trying to save as one multi-page TIF in MS Document
Imaging. However, it inverts the colors on all of the pages except the first
one. In my case, the images are monochromatic, so all of the text shows up
white and the page shows up black.
