Why does my cursor jump to top of page in Word 2007?

I do medical transcription and type letters. On the longer letters, when I
get down towards the bottom of the page, my cursor is suddenly at the very
top of the page and I have to stop to bring it down where it belongs. I am
not working on a laptop. How can I put a stop to this???
