Why does my dictionary always default back to English (AUS)

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Hi - hope you can help...

Every time I change the dictionary to English(UK) it re-sets itself to English(AUS).

I have been doing the following in Word:

Word > Preferences > Spelling and Grammar > Dictionaries > Language > English(UK)

any ideas?? many thanks.

Hi,

Every time I change the dictionary to English(UK) it re-sets itself to

I have been doing the following in Word:

Word > Preferences > Spelling and Grammar > Dictionaries > Language >
English(UK)

In the preferences, try selecting the dictionary and click on the Edit
button. Make a slight modification to the file and save.
There might be a slight corruption there that prevents the setting to
stick,
