Why does my Office Lock-up during Spell Checks?

Cletus the Slacked Jawed Yokel

Everytime I run a Manual "Spell Check" in Office it locks up and eats up all
my system resources!

I have donwloaded every patch, update, etc from the "Official Office"
webpage and have re-installed the entire Office Suite.

Nothing I have tried seems to stop this problem. No one else in my firm
seems to have this trouble with thier versions.
