Why does my recently downloaded Word show up in grid form?

I just downloaded the 2007 Office on to my HP. Now Word comes up with a grid
in the background. How do I get rid of the grid?

Hi Kimichka,

Uncheck the [x] Gridlines choice in the View tab in Word 2007.
