why does my rules & alerts don't seem to work

I have set up rules & alerts to to lessen the junk mail I get, but it doesn't
seem to continually work.

Bummer. Details? Why don't you think they are working? How did you define
your rules? Did they ever work? When did they stop working? What did you
install/uninstall just prior to them stopping?

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Good question, you need to look very carefully at the ones that make it
thru and see how your rules are being bypassed. extra space in a word or
using a "1" (one) in place of an "l" (el) those kind of spammer tricks.
