I use MS Outlook at the office. I am experienced with Eudora but am a new
user of Outlook. I have a POP3 account (connected through Ethernet 2) at
the office.
I do not try to use the Inbox or Send to archive messages. Instead, I have
created several boxes and regularly move mail that I want to keep from the
"In" box to another box. This works fine with Eudora. However, when I do
the same thing at the office with Outlook, the mail easily moves to the
appropriate folder -- but now *everything* in any box I have transferred to
lists *my name* as the sender. In other words, I have lost the name of the
original sender, and Outlook seems to treat this as new mail sent by me
(except that it does show that the mail has already been read).
I regularly use Tools to empty deleted files. I haven't found any way to
compact the folders after deleting performing this function.
In addition to Outlook, my computer also has Norton Anti-Virus (a commercial
version maintained by the university and administered only by them - that
is, definitions are automatically downloaded, usually on a daily basis, but
functions are grayed-out and cannot be used by the individual operator) and
Ad-Aware. In addition, I have a number of applications -- MS Office, Corel
Office, PowerPoint, an address book program, and several others.
What is causing this, and what can I change? As it is, the other boxes
(folders) that I created for organization are now useless to me - now I
can't view the list of messages to quickly access those I wanted to keep for
reference because my name shows up as the "sender" of every message instead
of the actual sender.
Thanks for any help you can give.
